Badu is a natural processed coffee from the Menglian region of Yunnan China on the border of Myanmar. Our partners YCT in Yunnan have worked with this washing station consistently and it produces about 20 tons of Badu natural per harvest under the management of Mr Chen.
The coffee cherries are harvested by the Lahu tribal peoples that live nearby and work the coffee shrubs around Aqi Badu at 1350 masl. The arabica variety is Catimor.
For this Badu coffee the nearby Banka wash station is utilized and has well developed processing methods such as cherry color sorting and growing tunnels to protect the cherries from rainfall.
The coffee from Badu is generally superior in sweetness to any other coffee in the region. In fact, Eli Ramirez used coffee from Badu during the 2017 USBC.
Flavor notes are berries, jaggery, mango with a light body.
